Dita Von Teese: Una Betty Boop de carne y hueso

La cosa va de moda... El estilo PIN-UP!

My post in english:

Dita Von Teese, one of the most sexy women in the world and an erotic icon, was blonde when she was young. That´s incredible! A different hair color transforms the same person in two different ones. I could not say which of ``the two Ditas’’ I think is more attractive, because she is one of the few famous women who fits  so good blonde and dark hair. Marilyn Monroe did the opposite as Dita did, she had a brunette hair but she preferred suffer and enjoy being a boom blonde, with its consequences.
Von Teese is a burlesque artist who left her ballet devotion and she started working in a lingerie shop where she realized about her corses and retro fashion passion. Since that moment, she has been improving her pin-up style, sometimes a gothic one too. However, she is always a reference model to get her style.
Recently, she has created a luxury lingerie line, ‘Von Follies’, which  will surely be successful and sexy.  I´ve also read, in Glamour, about her shoes passion and her interest in designing  a high heels collection, but she said  that she didn´t  want  to steal customers to Christian Louboutin: “I design lingerie but I don´t design shoes because Christian Louboutin is my friend”.
Taking advantage of her diva style, I´m going to talk about ‘pin-up girls’ throughout the history and how they´ve become a copy style always present in the fashion world.
Red lipsticks, hair weaves, sexy eyes, necklines and a wasp waist is everything you need to be one of this kind of girls. This is closely related to 40s and 50s, the Grease film and  Pearl Harbor nurses. But the first pin-up girl was an actress and writer called Colette in the end of XIX century. You have to take into account  that this kind of personality is related to ‘cancan dance’ and it has added a sexy innocence in just a gaze.
Greta Garbor in the 20s , Ingrid Bergman and Katherine Hepburn in the 30s , when she played as Gilda, Audrey Hepburn in the 40s , followed by the brown-haired boom women in the 50s: Sophia Loren, Elisabeth Taylor and Sara Montiel, together with the most desirable blond woman throughout time, Marilyn Monroe. The next generation adds Brigitte Bardot, Jane Birkin, Madonna, Amy Winehouse and, even more recently, Katy Perry and even Alaska.
All of them are sexy women that  don´t need to show too much, just enough to be irresistible. The attitude is what transforms you in a real pin-up girl, neither lingerie nor make-up.
I love this style because it reminds  me one of my favorite films, Grease, and the rock&roll music as Elvis Presley and the Basseballs, a new band very similar to the king of the rock.

XOXO
